Cell tower private land

I inherited a cell tower with my dads property and he had a lease with a company that is 50 years. As the new owner can I renegotiate the lease?

tower ownership problems
by: Anonymous

I inheritted a piece of land that has a tower already on it. My sister says she is entitled to half of the future lease. The lease is for another 30 years. My question is who gets the lease money and shouldn,t all proceeds go to the land owner and shouldn,t a new contract be drawn up in new landowners name. The land is in front of my home and my sister lives about 6 miles away. I personally dont see how you can own land but not have all say about what happens there for 30 years which is longer than i will probably be alive.

The tower assigned over to you, but it doesn't automatically trigger a renegotiation.
