Cell tower income reduction

We have had a cell tower for several years, and this year have been approached to reduce the monthly fee for the tower usage by ~25%, with a few other conditions. Is there a market trend to reduce cell tower income - i.e. a valid issue, or is this not a market trend, and really is the cell tower company asking for reduced rates i.e. it does not hurt to ask?

Let's talk about it ASAP

These offers can be frustrating. There is a subtle threat to terminate the lease. The level of the threat depends a lot on your location. Yes there is some truth to what they are saying, but the dirty little secret is that the people making the rent reduction threat know very little about the cell tower industry. Most of them are reading a script and are not decision makers. Do towers get moved? Yes, but very rarely. The 5G roll out will impact landlords but not all of them.
