shelter or a cabinet

A wireless carrier can use a shelter or a cabinet when they attach to an existing tower. The shelter is preferred. Is this a much better choice than the cabinet and can the cabinet provide everything that the shelter provides?

Cabinets vs Shelters....
by: sean (Tower Genius)

Each carrier is different. Sprint, T-Mobile etc... use cabinets. While AT&T and Verizon use shelters mainly but can deploy cabinets in some instances. Cabinets can do what a shelter can from an RF standpoint but working outside in adverse conditions are very difficult. Shelters provide a safe working environment for the cell site technicians as well as providing a place for them to sleep and grab a smoke when the boss is not looking. LOL
